Who am I?

I am a Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon based in Kent.

Since 2017 I have led the Head & Neck and Reconstructive Maxillofacial Service in East Kent.

I am refocusing my clinical and technical experience by offering private care to meet patients' needs in a more flexible and responsive way.

Outside of work, my interests include travelling to far-flung places, cooking and reading broadly. My 3 children keep him busy as family taxi, basketball buddy and sous-chef to the family star baker.

I have an active personality and enjoy keeping fit.  I will repeat the Oysterman triathlon next year.

 I am able to perform most procedures of the Maxillofacial speciality. 

My operative workload in my full time role consists of

• Major Head and Neck Cancer Resections and Immediate Free flap Reconstruction
• Skin cancer excision and reconstruction
• Temporomandibular Joint disorders including Botox injection
• Facial trauma
• Injured nerve repair
• Salivary gland disease 
• Cosmetic revision surgery post trauma or cancer surgery focusing on rehabilitation of form and function of the face
• Cosmetic procedures including placement of 3D printed onlay prosthetic material
• Complex dental extractions, bone grafting, pre-prosthetic surgery and dental implant placement

I am passionate about publishing on quality of care measured by key outcomes in our speciality.

I have lead the biggest project for the Oral & Maxillfofacial Surgeons in the UK, the Quality Outcomes in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery report and co-wrote the inaugural report published in 2022.

I have led authorship on many peer-reviewed papers charting the development of risk-adjustment processes that are currently embedded in the QOMS audit.

In 2020 this body of work was accepted as an MD of published work.  I gained my fellowships in Oral & Maxillfocial Surgery (FRCS-OMFS, RCSEng) in 2015 and in the same year the Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (FFD, RCSI). 

 I graduated from King's College London Dental School in 2010 and Leicester Medical School in 2002.
